Build Momentum Like a Champion

Have you seen the Women’s World Athletics Championship 4x100 relay race anchored by Sha’Carri Richardson??

I’ve watched it at least twenty times!

The race was held in Tokyo on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

All I could think about was how much training they must endure to make running that fast look slow.

Side note: I honestly think professional sporting events should include a reference runner so the audience can appreciate just how fast a 41.75-second win actually is compared to an average person’s time.

The U.S. team didn’t win that race on the day of the event.

They won it in the days, months, and years of showing up physically, mentally, and emotionally to practice.

They built the momentum required to finish 0.04 seconds ahead of Jamaica, a country known for dominating sprint races.

Now think about that.

0.04 seconds is such a tiny difference, but it determined who took home the gold and who took home the silver.

So let me ask you this:

How do you access that level of advantage in your everyday life?

What if you practiced like a world champion, every single day?

What kind of advantage would that give you?

This past week I had a few 1:1 calls and noticed something. Beyond hesitation, the core belief many people hold is that they don’t want to show up until they have an audience.

But here’s the truth. Michael Jackson was performing in his living room with his siblings long before he sold out arenas and stadiums.

So, with your goal in mind, how can you expect to materialize it if you’re not showing up to practice?

If you’ve bought into manifestation teachings that tell you to simply imagine what you want, align your energetic field, unblock your chakras, heal your childhood trauma, and your wildest dreams will appear, take it back.

It’s a half-truth, missing one crucial piece: the work.

You have to do the work.

Work compounds.

Compounding builds momentum.

Momentum builds results.

This applies to any goal:

  • Weight loss
  • Building a brand
  • Increasing your revenue
  • Paying off debt
  • Organizing and decluttering
    The list goes on.

Let’s bring it down from world championships and Michael Jackson to everyday life.

Imagine you dream of building a home on the land you purchased with your company’s bonus check (smart money move, by the way). You’ve pinned your dream home on Pinterest, volunteered to host Christmas dinner next year, and even bought the decorations for the tree.

But what good is all that if you haven’t hired a builder or contractor to start construction?

It’s the same with your goals.

You’re busy perfecting your logo when no one even knows your brand exists.

You’ve bought all the cute workout outfits but haven’t committed to a workout routine.

You have the potential to be a champion.

But you’re missing momentum because you’re waiting for an audience.

Here’s the truth: the audience is waiting on you.

  • You write your newsletter when your only readers are your parents.
  • You work out even when you don’t feel like it.
  • You show up for your goal of financial freedom by skipping dinner out and using that money to pay down debt.

You do this before anyone is watching.

You do this before anyone cares.

You do this because it’s for you and your own development.

You have to give yourself permission to bloom.

Your Challenge
For the next 10 days, commit to one or two goals or habits.

This practice will solidify your self-confidence and self-trust.

You’ll feel unstoppable and ready to take on another 100 days.

I know, because it’s working for me.

So far this year, I’ve released 45 pounds, and I have no plans to return to the stagnant version of myself who used to watch workout videos instead of doing them.

I’m still on my wellness journey, and I’ve realized that wellness isn’t a finish line. It’s a lifelong commitment.

And for me, it all started with completing one successful 100-Day Challenge.
